BV-1 Tape Vibrato
Nicknamed “Bayonne”, after the town on its meter
A tape machine that wobbles on purpose. Pitch vibrato from a clean shimmer to a seasick warble, with tape saturation and aged-oxide character on the same panel.

How far the pitch swings. Under 20 cents it sounds like a singer's natural vibrato; at 100 it bends a full semitone.
Rate
0.1 – 12 Hz · default 5
From a slow drift you feel more than hear to a fast flutter. Changes glide smoothly, so you can ride it with automation.
Wave
Sine / Triangle
Sine for a round, vocal wobble. Triangle for a steadier swing that sits between tape wow and a Leslie.
Tape
0 – 100 % · 4× oversampled
Warm tape saturation that turns into a light fuzz near the top. Output level is compensated, so it adds colour, not volume. The reels start turning when it is up.
Magnetic
0 – 100 %
Ages the tape: wow and flutter, short dropouts, a slow wah-like sweep, narrower bandwidth and a low bed of hiss.
Power
On / Off · click-free
A real toggle with a crossfade, so you can switch the effect in and out mid-song. The VU shows the pitch deviation live, in cents.

Four circuits in one box: valve, tape, fuzz and analog. A Pultec-style cut EQ to shape the dirt, twin VUs, and a tube that glows hotter the harder you push it.

How hard the circuit is driven. The level is compensated as you turn it, so you hear the character change, not just more volume.

Valve / Tape / Fuzz / Analog
V: a biased triode, rich in second harmonic. T: soft tape compression with head bump. F: a hard, lopsided fuzz. A: gentle, clean-ish analog drive.

On / Off
High-voltage bite: a bright sizzle, a hint of mains buzz and rare sparks that ride on your signal, plus presence and weight. Silent when you are.
Low Cut
0 – 10 · 60 / 100 / 200 Hz
Passive-style low shelf. Up to about 16 dB less low end at the frequency on the selector below the knob.
Mid Cut
0 – 10 · 400 / 800 / 1k Hz
A broad dip to scoop boxiness or honk out of the distortion, up to 12 dB.
High Cut
0 – 10 · 3k / 6k / 15k Hz
High shelf to tame fizz, up to about 16 dB, from a gentle air trim at 15k to a dark 3k roll-off.
Colour
0 – 100 %
A short, light room and a lift in the 15–20 kHz air band. Glue and sheen without a wash of reverb.
Output
−18 – +18 dB
Final level, after everything else. The twin VUs show input and output side by side.

Toggle and pilot lamp. Off passes your audio untouched, perfectly time-aligned.

Nicknamed “Geres”
A transient designer built the old-school way: two envelopes, one clean VCA, no threshold. Punch or soften every hit, grow or dry out the tail, and let Ghost take the kick out of your snare mic.

Push the front of every hit forward for punch, or pull it back to soften a sound and sit it deeper in the mix.
Sustain
−24 – +24 dB
Bring up the tail and the room, or dry it out for a short, tight sound. The attack is left alone.
Output
−20 – +5 dB
Final level. Adding attack raises the peaks, so use it to match levels. Signal and clip LEDs sit right above.
Ghost
On / Off
Listens to the snare, not the kick, and lowers the kick bleed in the lows between hits. Not a gate: the snare, its tail and your ghost notes stay.
Range · Sens
0 – 40 dB · 6 – 40 dB
Range sets how far the bleed goes down. Sens sets what still counts as snare, so soft ghost notes are kept.
Full · Listen
Switches
Full works on the whole spectrum instead of only the lows. Listen plays only what is being removed, for fast setup.

Top: the BV-1 on the guitar bus. Bottom: the Logic session playing. Nothing is edited or re-amped: Tape warms up the guitars and gets the reels turning, Depth sets how far the pitch swings, and Rate goes from a slow seasick drift to a fast shimmer, all while the band plays.
Watch the meter: it shows the pitch moving in cents, in time with what you hear.

Kick bleed out, snare left alone
Top: the TS-3 on the snare channel. Bottom: the Logic session. Part one plays the snare mic on its own, so you can hear exactly what Ghost does: the kick that leaks into the mic drops away between hits, while the snare, its tail and the ghost notes pass untouched.
Part two drops the same take back into the whole kit. Watch the phosphor screen: the spectrum shows the low end clearing up in real time.

Questions
Do they work on Windows?
Not yet. All Frankled plugins are macOS only for now, as Audio Unit and VST3.
I didn't get the serial e-mail.
Check your spam folder for a message from Frankled. If it is not there after a few minutes, reply to your purchase receipt with your order number and we will send it by hand.
Can I use them on my laptop and my studio computer?
Yes. Activate each computer you own with the same e-mail and serial. Please don't share your serial with other people.
Can I make the window bigger or smaller?
Yes. Click the small SIZE tag on the panel, or right-click anywhere on it, and pick a size. The plugin remembers it.
macOS says it can't verify the developer.
Open System Settings, go to Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway next to the Frankled installer, then confirm. On macOS 14 or earlier you can also Control-click the installer and choose Open.
Will my Logic projects keep their settings?
Yes. Every control is saved with the project and can be automated.
